Bike Shop, Bikes for Sale, and Motorcycle for Sale

Bike ShopWe all remember our first bike; it is something that you never forget. Learning to ride is a liberating experience for any kid: the first taste of freedom and the open road. Bikes have come a long way since their beginnings and now walking into a bike shop can be overwhelming. The abundance of choice makes it hard to choose just one of the many bikes for sale. But relax, by the time you finish reading this website, you will know everything you need to know about buying bikes and motorcycles.

The first thing you need to know before you walk into a bike shop is how much money you have to spend. There are bikes for sale for $200 and there are others for $20,000. The amount you spend will influence the quality of your bike and how hard you can push it. Most of us will not need a super-expensive bike because we will not taking part in high-speed off-road races or executing breath-taking jumps.

If you are buying new, a bike worth about $800 will give you some reasonable suspension and is a good bike to ride to school. But it is not really designed to perform well off-road. Spend another $500 and you will have a good entry-level mountain bike with quality components and frame. Around the $2000 mark will get you a decent bike designed for off-road with a lighter frame and dual suspension. These prices may seem steep, but don't forget there are second hand bikes for sale. You do not necessarily need to buy brand new.

Once you have a budget all figured out, you should allow some money for bike accessories especially if you are going to be doing some tough riding. You will need a helmet and some gloves. The reasons for a helmet are obvious and you should get one no matter what style of riding you will be doing. You may think that gloves are not as necessary, but when you are riding fast and hard, your hands are going to sweat. Even the coolest pro still perspires on a steep hill. Gloves are going to give you the grip you need to hold on to the bike and control the beast with accuracy.

Once you have the bike that is right for you, you may need a mechanic that can do repairs. Finding a quality bike mechanical is notoriously difficult. Some riders find a place where a motorcycle is for sale and work with their mechanic, while others learn to do the work themselves. While fixing a bike is not as complex as fixing a motorcycle, a lot of the same principles apply. So if you know a good motorbike mechanic, it would do no harm to ask them if they know anything about mountain bikes as well.

We are just getting started on our bike adventure. We go into much greater detail on the issue of suspension, accessories and riding technique on the rest of our site. Have fun riding.
